Korg CA-40 Tuner Aug 29, 2010 Seems to be accurate. I do not have to fine tune the guitar after using it like I did with my old tuner. Is easy to read considering my declining eyesight. Wish it had a backlight but other than that it is an excellent buy for the money. In fact, I may even buy another one for my backup guitar.
Chromatic Tuner Aug 18, 2010 I purchased the Korg CA-40 Chromatic Tuner to help me tune my grandson's violin. It works great. With little musical ability, and no "ear" for notes, I am able to keep his violin in tune between lessons.
Awesome for guitar tuning Aug 18, 2010 I love this tuner so far. I purchased it with the clip on microphone for my acoustics. It is very easy to use, the needle doesn't sway around wildly like a lot of other tuners I've seen. My guitars sound better than ever now, (My ear isn't good enough to tune to a tone). This should serve me for a lifetime, even if I pick up a banjo or mandolin later. I highly recommend getting the clip on mic with this, as you can tune up even in a noisy room.
Best Value Chromatic Guitar Tuner Aug 14, 2010 This KORG CA-40 was purchased for a friend, but I have fallen in love with it and will give her one of my others!
It is extremely low priced but very accurate, fast to tune and very lightweight. Amazon supplied it through Austin Bazaars and they shipped it very quickly, well packed too.
How does it compare with the heap of other guitar tuners I have? For accuracy and speed, it is right up there with it's much more expensive KORG cousins but still has the imporant features like being auto chromatic, 1/4 inch guitar input & output sockets, sound out, large easy to read display and high accuracy.
It compares well to Boss mid range tuners and is FAR superior to Planet Waves and intellitouch products. It is more lightly built than a lot of the very expensive tuners, and it lacks a travel case - but hey for $15 you get a very sweet deal!
I feel it really is the best value, low priced, high accuracy guitar tuner on the market today. If it gets stolen, you sure won't lose any sleep over it, like I did when I lost my expensive BOSS a couple of years back!
Great Tuner Aug 11, 2010 I really like this tuner! The needle display allows me to see my progress as I move closer to a note and the screen is a good size. It can accept a line input, but I just use the speaker. The output increases the versatility of the device as well. The main thing, though, is that it works, and it does so without any complication. The one negative I have is that the display is not backlit, so it is hard to see in a dark room. Of course, if you know you are at least on the right note (but may be sharp or flat), you can just watch the lights, though you won't see the needle.
