Great First Violin Jun 24, 2010 This violin is beautiful! It has a wonderful sound and easy on the fingers. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Cheap problems with a cheap instrument May 26, 2010 I understood that I bought a cheap violin. I understodd how to place the bridge. Here is what happened to me. First off, my instrument did not arrive until the lates time possible. I was not told that it would be send by UPS thus i missedthe first run. Aside from deliery problems, the thickest string snapped AFTER I slackened the strings. It was coming undone. Now, I understand that it is as simple as going to a music shop and getting a new string, but what I don't understand is houw half of my fine tuners that lie on the long plastic piece at the bottom were missing. I also feel that the rosin is cheap; cheap for a cheap instrument.
Now, all of that aside, I love my new violin. I haven't played for years but after a little struggle and hard headed trickery, I was able to bust out some tunes. Granted, I haven't yet purchased the tuner, thus I must begin the hunt. I love the instrument and I feel that ALL I have to do is replace all of the strings and the violin won't be 'cheap.' Also, who cares about the pegs? All you have to do is push and twist. The case is not nearly as 'flimsy' as I thought it would be. Overall, If you are not a master musician, and if you are not an elementary child trying the violin out for the first time, this violin is a great buy.
Very nice instrument Mar 14, 2010 This was a gift for my granddaughter at Christmas time...she loves violin music and loves this instrument...good quality and reasonable price.Highly recommended.
more information Mar 04, 2010 The only problem I see with this item is it should have came with some type of instructions or a manual.
This Violin needs a lot of investment to make it play Mar 03, 2010 This Violin needs a lot of upgrades in order for it to make a sound close to music.
There is no value for a student to practice on a squeaking instrument - at the minimum you will need to change all the strings - $28-$48, you will need to install a new bridge ~$40 and a new bow $60-100 ..
And then there will be all sort of other problems the Pegs will slip forever and the sound will never be satisfactory..
However there are 2 advantages - the color is `cool' ...and if some kid is stepping on it during a school concert you will not suffer a heart attack..
